Hayseed Dixie (englisch hayseed = „Hinterwäldler, Landei“ oder hay-seed = „Heu-Saatgut“) ist eine US-amerikanische Band, die von John Wheeler im Oktober 2000 in Nashville gegründet wurde.

Geschichte

Anfangs spielte die Band ausschließlich AC/DC–Coverversionen von Hard-Rock-Songs in einer musikalischen Mischung von Bluegrass und Rock.cite-ref-1[1]cite-ref-2[2] Die Band hat seitdem eine große Zahl von eigenen Songs und Neu-Interpretationen von bekannten Rocksongs aufgenommen.

Bandleader Wheeler ist das letzte verbliebene Gründungsmitglied der Band.cite-ref-3[3] Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Bands ermuntern Hayseed Dixie das Publikum, ihre Auftritte mitzuschneiden. Sie gehen sogar so weit, auf ihrer Homepage Tipps für eine gute Aufnahmequalität zu geben.cite-ref-4[4]
